“Aambala is Vishal’s best”

Vishal, known for his daring stunt sequences and fierce dialogue delivery is currently busy shooting for Aambala day and night.  The team was seen shooting a song sequence in the wee hours of last night.

Khusbhoo Sundar, yesteryear beauty queen, who happened to visit the Aambala sets yesterday, shared her excitement through her official twitter handle.

“Just visited the set of #Ambala..canning a song till wee hours..watched #pazhaghikalam song..@vff(Vishal ) is simply lovable n @ihansika soooo pretty”

“U have to watch @vff in #Ambala .. its his best .. cannot wait for jan.. seems too long a wait to watch the film with the audience.”

It must be noted that Aambala is gearing up for a Pongal release along with some hugely expected movies like I, Yennai Arindhaal, Kaaki Sattai and Komban.

Rajini jumps ahead of the likes of Suriya and Vijay

This past week saw the release of Lingaa, the latest Superstar Rajini starrer, and the film has turned out to be the biggest opener this year, after considering its first 3 days' Chennai city gross estimate.

2. Anjaan - 2.36 crores from 573 tracked weekend shows

 

3. Kochadaiiyaan - 1.81 crores from 432 tracked weekend shows

 

4. Kaththi - 1.75 crores from 411 tracked weekend shows (the film released on Wednesday and had a 5 day weekend gross of 3.01 crores)

 

5. VIP - 1.68 crores from 360 tracked weekend shows

 

6. Maan Karate - 1.41 crores from 303 tracked weekend shows

 

7. Jilla - 1.32 crores from 321 tracked weekend shows

 

8. Veeram - 1.23 crores from 306 tracked weekend shows

 

9. Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal - 1.15 crores from 252 tracked weekend shows

''I cannot afford to release my movie amidst a crowd''

Dhananjayan, Chief of Disney - UTV, South India, and one of the top analysts of Tamil Cinema, tweeted a couple of weeks back about the sad state of Tamil Cinema where many big movies like I and Yennai Arindhaal are getting ready to clash on the same date without proper planning and spacing. 

 

Meanwhile, UTV's upcoming film, SP Jhananathan's Purampokku, starring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Shaam and Karthika Nair in the lead roles, is more or less done. But, Dhananjayan said that he is no hurry to release his movie.

 

He candidly admitted that he could not afford to release it amidst a crowd. "Purampokku is almost complete, but we will wait for the rush of new films to clear and then release. Cannot afford to release amidst this huge crowd."

A Herculean transformation for Yennai Arindhaal

Actor Arun Vijay is currently working with director Gautham Vasudev Menon for the film "YENNAI ARINDHAAL" alongside Thala Ajith Kumar. The film is in its final leg of shoot and is set for a Pongal release.

As known widely, Arun Vijay has transformed his physique for his role in this movie. He has been gyming for 6 to 7 hours a day for the past six months and is under a high protein diet. He says he loves working out at late hours in the night even on the days of shoot, with his personal trainer Shivakumar.

Yennai Arindhaal is rightfully Thala Ajith's highest now

Since the past 4 days, Yennai Arindhaal's teaser has been hogging all the limelight in the online space. Ajith's fans have been on a trending spree and have made sure that the teaser and the film is having all the spotlight.

 

According to online buzz, the teaser is now the most 'liked' Indian teaser on YouTube with more than 68000 likes currently. This figure is supposedly greater than the 'likes' on even some of the blockbuster Bollywood film teasers.

 

Yennai Arindhaal's teaser view count of 2.94 million is also the highest ever for an Ajith film till date, beating Billa 2 (2.9 million) and Arrambam (2.1 million). Let's see how much more the teaser can pile on.

Thala Ajith's intro number will lead the way for Yennai Arindhaal

Harris Jayaraj had shared on Sunday night, that a single from Yennai Arindhaal would be released soon to satiate the appetite of all ardent Thala Ajith fans. We now hear that the foot-tapping dance number 'Adhaaru Udhaaru' (Ajith's intro number) would be the single track to be released first, by Sony Music, the music label.

 

Meanwhile, just about 3 to 4 days of patchwork remain and we hear that it may be done in Hyderabad. The team has completed shooting the climax chase sequence on some of the busy roads of Chennai, with many candid shots part of the mix. The film is on track for a Pongal 2015 release.

 

And the dates of the single launch, the music and trailer are yet to be decided. We will keep you informed.

''Yennai Arindhaal could boost my career even further''

Arun Vijay who is currently busy shooting for Yennai Arindhaal spoke to Behindwoods regarding YA and also his other movie Vaa Deal, which stars Karthika Nair and Sathish in other lead roles. Vaa Deal is also gearing up for an early 2015 release.

The handsome hunk said “I cannot disclose anything about Yennai Arindhaal at this juncture; we still have four days of shoot left. My career as a hero is on the upswing and Yennai Arindhaal could boost it even further. So it actually makes sense to release Vaa Deal after the release of Yennai Arindhaal.”
